Medium Voice Organ Guitar and a melody instrument-John Corigliano (b. 1938) is an American composer. Wedding Song was originally written in 1971 for Oboe Voice and Organ for an oboist friend of the composer. It has been arranged for any melody instrument (Flute Oboe Clarinet Trumpet Violin etc.) medium Voice and either Guitar Organ or any other keyboard instrument. The lyrics were intended to be taken from a text by Khalil Gibran but when Gibran’s estate refused permission the American playwright editor and teacher William M. Hoffman (b. 1939) was asked to create a new text.

Masterpiece Edition-Franz Schubert was born in Vienna in 1797. He was involved in music at an early age learning music theory and many different instruments including piano violin organ and voice. During his brief but prolific life he wrote a wide variety of music. His compositions included symphonies piano sonatas piano duets operas masses chamber works and several hundred songs. Among the hundreds of songs the most loved and revered is Ave Maria. Ave Maria was first published in 1826 under the German title Ellen's Gesang 111: Hymne and die Jungfrau (Ellen's Song 111: Hymn to the Virgin). The text used was taken from a novel written by Sir Walter Scott entitled 'Lady of the Lake'. It was then translated into German as it appeared in Schubert's song. After Schubert's death in 1828 the Latin text began being used and eventually surpassed either the use of the German or English text. 'Antiphon of the Blessed Virgin' is a text which has been used in religious contexts since the beginning of Christianity. This vocal classic was originally envisioned as a devotional piece but over time the magnificent beauty of both music and text has made this song equally popular for secular performances. Schubert's Ave Maria arranged for High Voice is recommended for Soprano or Tenor ranges. I knew I wanted to write a duet a piece of religious music and something to go along with a bit of Birtwistle. My initial instinct was to base the piece on drones as Birtwistle's music has so very many notes but then I decided that an austere but ecstatic approach was the best to fill a coherent evening. I asked my friend Craig Lucas to paraphrase the Stabat Mater text - which describes the Virgin Mary weeping at the foot of the cross on which her son is crucified. The piece is organised byseparating each phrase of the text with a moment of silence with the exception of the last three which are joined with a frenzied chorale with improvised dynamics from the Harp Wind and Strings. - Nico Muhly Instrumentation: Soprano and Baritone voice Flute Clarinet in Bb Harp Violin Viola and Violoncello.

John Rutter's Visions for solo Violin upper-voice choir with Harp and Strings or Organ. This four-movement work is inspired by the idea of 'Jerusalem' both as a Holy City and a utopian ideal of heavenly peace and seraphic bliss. The composer has selected four biblical texts in English and Latin that express different aspects of this vision. The solo Violin part is identical for both full and reduced instrumentations.
